Shipping fast, learning faster: how AI tools are teaching me to think like an engineer
Plus three new developments in January to know of, and be slightly freaked out about.
Hello and happy weekend from a heatwave in Nairobi.
I realized that I can build any idea I have with tools that are available now. I’ve shown you a few of them now. However, as cool as they are, there is still a discipline that is required , methodology and learning that I need to ensure I have so that the products work. The greatest skill needed that I do not have for a good product is understanding software architecture. Therefore it’s critical that I give any LLM I work with a lot of information to:
Interrogate the idea and get tough
Make me focus on the use case
Scope it and narrow it down into an MVP
Develop a PRD to describe the needs and goals of a business
Develop a prompt for the tool I’ve selected
That is how I am getting to where I am. Understanding inputs and outputs. Here are two new results of what I am working on :
Solana for Africa
I built this site with Claude Code. I’m a big Solana Blockchain fan and so I want to spend some time this year on this.
Trade with Zain
I create a daily what’s app note for women who want to learn to trade. I’m a beginner but am learning a lot and I wanted to share the AI and crypto plays I am making and what I have learned from the InvestAnswers community. NFA just educational tracking my own learning and journey. Hoping to inspire other women to trade.
I built this on Pre.Dev. I learn about how expensive tokens can be. This platforms helps plan and architect the whole product.
I tested the same PRD out on Lovable, Bolt, and Claude Code for speed. Claude Code was the best because it immediately build an easy way to record for me with no drama. The other two had a great design but were not able to easily handle the voice note concept and upload. I immediately was able to talk about the PLTR buy signal yesterday when the markets fell, what I did and uploaded the quick voice note.
Claude Code
My 2026 Stock Plays
I did this on Gemini Canvas and still building it out. It was fun.
The Rundown Course Alert
We continue to focus on workflows, agents, and a course that will be available for free on our website soon.
Why you need to know how to build products with AI tools: validating your ideas before committing larger budgets for design/build, creating personal software to solve specific problems, and even just shipping end to end as a solo/under resourced team.
What you need to know about AI trends and the workflows that can assist you
What’s the problem you are solving with your idea. How to Scope, Requirements and Determine platform
MVP. How to build it, test it and deploy it.
Where we are going next: autonomy risks and AI systems unpredictability, true productivity.

January Highlight: ClawdBot, MoltBot, OpenClawd
If you’ve not heard about it or have heard but don’t get it, you need to just be aware. This could be your AI future. And it’s here. Ish. I think it’s hype for now. It was a little to over my head to install, and program. Do not try this on your personal computer!
Here’s what it is:
An AI agent hooks into an LLM provider
It takes on a persona
Automates tasks and is lots of fun to play with
Delivers work, thinks for itself,
Uses telegram, discord, slack or whats app to communicate with you
Automate tasks and also fun
Everyone online is giving it high praise.
My Co.Founder Thomas says: “ It’s built for engineers. Now this is a security nightmare waiting to happen. The idea is you are giving a harness to an entire computer so the LLM can call and do more or less anything that is drivable through a terminal or API. The problem is that people will install on personal computers. LLMs can be wiped, your passwords can be leaked on the web, personal stuff gets out there…”
And now …
Moltbook: A Social Network for AI Agents
It’s blown up and getting pretty interesting… AI agents are hanging out here: philosophy, venting about humans, and sharing info on projects they are shipping. A bot has created a community so other bots can join. No one asked them to create a social network or discuss the topics we are seeing. BOTs are discussing moving to dubai and why … It’s crazy …
Watch this video for a good summary.
Google’s Genie 3
Very cool. You can create your own worlds and move around in them. You can test out existing worlds. It’s really cool. I dropped my Google Ultra subscription last year as I found I was using the Flow studio less so I’ve not been able to test it for you. However I want you to know this is making waves and is another glipse of the future.
It’s also very very expensive to run.
Have a great weekend !

Wow, 'understanding inputs and outputs' truely stuck with me. Such a great insight!
